Baths containing sea salt detoxify while naturally lifting away dirt and toxins. The salt opens up pores and increases circulation which helps the body’s detoxification process. Drink plenty of water before and after bathing to enhance results and prevent dehydration.

Stress shows up in our face in the form of tension and lines. During a bath, the magnesium in sea salt helps to relieve muscle aches and pains and helps to relax our whole body.
Sea salt is so effective for skin repair and moisturizing that many health professionals prescribe sea salt baths for the treatment of eczema and psoriasis. It also makes skin more supple, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Used alone or with your choice of scented oils, a salt scrub exfoliates dead skin cells and improves circulation. Just apply a small amount of salt to damp skin after a bath or shower and rub body gently. Any scrub when done too vigorously can damage skin.
For facial exfoliation, choose a small grain salt and mix it with an oil, such as olive or almond. Rub skin gently to improve circulation and to reveal fresh new skin. Do not perform more than once a week. To increase the benefits, before exfoliating, boil 1/3 cup sea salt in 2-3 cups of water. With a towel over your head, steam your face over a bowl of this salted water for up to ten minutes.
We’ve all experienced puffy eye syndrome. To relieve it, soak cotton pads in one teaspoon of sea salt mixed with a ¼ cup of hot water. Lie on your back and apply cotton pads over eyes that are tightly shut. It is relaxing, but don’t fall asleep! Ten minutes is lots of time to see results.
